From motorsport to the space industry

Julie Lespagnol, class of 2015, spoke at ESTACA Laval on Wednesday November 22.

She shared with the students her rich and atypical career path:

After graduating as an ESTACA engineer, she took on several assignments as a track performance engineer.

From 2018 to 2021 she held the position of Chief Engineer at Hyundai Motorsport on their first electric sports car for the Pure ETCR championship.

Since 2023, she has been a member of the teaching team and coaches students in ESTACA's Motorsport Engineering Performance Master's program.

After a wealth of experience and references in motorsport in Germany, Sweden and France, Julie decided to turn to the space sector.

Enthused by the innovative and human challenges of a sustainable approach to space exploration missions, she started as an engineer at Airbus Defense and Space in London in December 2023.

A fine career path, and a fine example of how engineers continually train throughout their lives to meet the needs of the marketplace.
