RHEA: Sustainable Development Week
The association RHEA - Rassemblement pour l'humain, l'environnement et l'avenir - organized its "Environment Week" at ESTACA from February 5 to 9. The aim was to raise student awareness of the challenges of the energy transition through conferences, films and a concert.
RHEA, an association for a better understanding of tomorrow's human and environmental challenges
Climate change and the energy transition are major issues in ESTACA's training programs. Students are also mobilized around this theme as part of their various associative projects, which work towards the technological or human developments needed to develop less polluting transport, thanks to lighter vehicles, new energies, etc. RHEA, for its part, aims to raise awareness of all human, social and environmental issues by organizing events throughout the year to raise awareness of these subjects. The association was involved in setting up back-to-school awareness days for new students (link to brief), and in organizing "Transition Wednesdays" conferences with the Training Department (link to brief). During the year, it also organizes OGRE-Ordre de GRandeur des Energies workshops, a fun and collaborative serious game to help students understand the challenges of the energy transition, and digital frescoes.
A week dedicated to the energy transition
Each year, the association organizes a week to immerse students in the challenges of sustainable development, with debates on environmental issues, conferences with engineers from different transport sectors, films, workshops and more. This year's week was punctuated by :
- Conferences on topics such as " CO2, at the heart of automotive product strategy " with Nicolas Beutter, Director in charge of tailpipe CO2 emissions, or " Logistics and freight transport " with Reuben Fischer from Shift.
- Screening of the film "Ice on Fire".
- A concert organized in partnership with the Bureau Des Arts.
- A quiz hosted by Loïc Bonifacio, class of 2018, on energy-climate topics: orders of magnitude to manipulate to understand the transport transition.
Baptiste Loose, a 4th year student and head of the RHEA association's Environment department, explains why the association organizes this type of week:
