Deaths - Departure of an ESTACA pioneer
Geneviève Guiard has left us at the age of 97.
She devoted most of her career to the transmission of knowledge, through collaborations in the writing of scientific and technical works, and to training, notably at the DGAC's Service de la Formation Aéronautique, then at FRAMATOME.
The only daughter of the class of 1949 and the 8th woman to graduate from ESTACA, she is a very independent woman who, for many years, conducted studies on the status of women and women's access to training in many countries.
In 1987, she created the Norbert Gerbier International Prize for Meteorological Research under the aegis of the World Meteorological Organization.
His contribution to French culture was rewarded by the Vermeil Medal of Arts, Sciences and Letters in 1988, and by his appointment to the Chevalier de l'Ordre du Mérite.
The entire School joins the Alumni network in extending our most sincere condolences to his family and friends.
