The challenges of finding an energy balance are numerous: intermittency, flexibility, energy storage, research and development, infrastructure, financing, social acceptability, public awareness, just transition...

Philippe Rocher will review the history of the French energy mix, from dependence on fossil fuels to diversification in the context of the climate emergency. He will then discuss the potential of renewable energies (wind, solar, hydro), their advantages and challenges (cost reduction, innovative technologies, job creation). He will question the place of nuclear power in the energy mix (advantages and controversies) and the sacred union or marriage of reason between EPR and renewable energies. It will also address the role of gas in the transition, its flexibility, but also import dependencies and the question of green gas?

He will take into account all the key players in the energy transition: the State, businesses, citizens, consumers and, above all, local authorities. He will discuss public policies in favor of the energy transition, the law to accelerate...
