74% of women have never considered a career in the scientific and technical fields: this is one of the findings of the Haut Conseil de l'égalité entre les femmes et les hommes in its 6th report on the state of sexism in France. What's more, the proportion of women among engineering students is stagnating, and has been at 29% for several years. All this points to the need to rebalance and mobilize female talent in engineering, which is essential for an egalitarian, high-performance society.

It is against this backdrop that the Conférence des directeurs des écoles françaises d'ingénieurs (CDEFI ) is launching the new edition of the Ingénieuses competition, which aims to raise the profile of women in engineering and inspire young girls to take up science and technology by deconstructing the gender stereotypes associated with these sectors. As in previous years, the competition will reward French engineering schools, engineering students and working women engineers whose projects, career paths and commitments to gender equality in engineering serve as examples for younger generations.

A total of ten prizes will be awarded as part of Ingénieuses 2025:

• five school prizes, each worth 500 euros: a prize for the most original project, a prize for the most active school, a prize for student commitment, a special jury prize and a high school prize;
• two student-engineer prizes (France and North Africa), each worth 1,000 euros (and a trip to Paris to attend the ceremony for the North African winner);
• two prizes for women engineers, each worth 500 euros.
• a woman in digital technology prize, created in partnership with the Inria Foundation, worth 500 euros each.

The nominees shortlisted by the juries will be announced in April, following the juries' deliberations. The winners will be announced at the Ingénieuses awards ceremony in Paris on May 15, 2025.
