This call for entries is open to all female engineering school graduates, whatever their age, background, experience, field of training or sector of activity. The aim is to reward women engineers whose careers are a real source of inspiration for younger generations. Candidates complete an application form outlining their career path and their vision of gender equality. The aim of the Women Engineers' Award is to recognize the career paths of women engineers who, through their ambition, personal and professional choices and commitment to promoting gender equality in the engineering professions, have the potential to become ambassadors for their profession.

Created in 2011 by the Conférence des directeurs des écoles françaises d'ingénieurs (CDEFI), the Ingénieuses operation aims to combat gender stereotypes, promote gender equality at school and in the professional sphere, and encourage women to become more involved in the world of engineering.gender equality at school and in the workplace, and to encourage young girls to choose scientific and technological training and engineering careers. It takes the form of a national communication campaign and a competition culminating in a prize-giving ceremony. The initiative is part of the CDEFI's mission to promote engineering training and careers, and to defend the values of social openness, diversity and equal opportunity.
